Lucie Ailsa x Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Campaign

Lucie Ailsa x Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Campaign

By Lucie Sutton

To celebrate the launch of Jo Malone London's English Pear and Freesia fragrance I was asked to create a series of collages inspired by the upcoming campaign fronted by their new brand ambassador Adwoa Aboah.

Made using a mix of collage and drawing techniques each one includes references to the perfumes key botanical notes such as freesia, King William pear, rose, patchouli and orange blossom. I created 4 artworks in total which showcase these beautiful natural ingredients in an abstract composition to bring a sense of harmony and highlight the delicate shapes of the plants and flowers used to create their signature scent.

Orchards awash with golden sunshine. The sensuous freshness of just-ripe pears wrapped in a bouquet of bright freesias, their unmistakeable blooms radiating innocence and a delicate, cool touch. Mellowed by amber, patchouli and woods. A Jo Malone London favourite, now and forever.

Celine Roux, VP at Jo Malone explains the inspiration behind the new campaign;

"English Pear & Freesia is all about the enchanting appeal of an English orchard, right at the point that summer turns into autumn. We were inspired by the image of fruit trees laden with juicy, just-ripe pears, and also by the great English poet John Keats’s famous poem, To Autumn, which talks about ripe fruit and flowers at this magical and whimsical point of the year.”

A series of collage workshops with Jo Malone London have been scheduled for early 2023.
